Santo António p'ARTES de mim – Collection of Alexandre Correia

Saint Anthony plays a prominent role in Alexandre Correia's life. It was thanks to the appearance of this saint to his beloved grandfather that the latter's life was saved. This unusual episode led to a complete change in the way he viewed religion and resulted in his grandfather, with whom he had a special relationship, holding Saint Anthony in high regard. Thus, Alexandre Correia also developed an intrinsic fondness for this saint, which led him to collect pieces that gave rise to this fantastic collection.

This exhibition consists of figurative works with different interpretations, created by artisans from all over the country. The pieces are made from various materials, reflecting the customs and traditional techniques of our people. The entire collection represents, as the title suggests, a part of the collector's affection, combined with his devotion. It is a religiously charged exhibition with emotional connectivity, evoking memories of his past.
