Remembering – Contemporary Ceramics Collection
Archive
Remembering – Contemporary Ceramics Collection" is the exhibition hosted by the Pottery Museum until 26th September, in the Chapel Room. It represents a fascinating synergy of perspectives and visions from ceramic artists who infused their pieces with inspiration drawn from contemporary times.
The artists featured include: Alberto Vieira, Elsa Rebelo, João Carqueijeiro, José Fernando Milheiro da Costa, Georgeta Cardoso, Rita Gonçalves, Vasco Baltazar, Licínio Matos Costa, José Emílio, Sousa Pereira, Sérgio Amaral, Ricardo Casimiro, and Rogério Sousa. These ceramists have brought their creations to life, making “Remembering” a blend of artistic interpretations.
The pieces on display reflect a rich variety of moments open to diverse interpretations—stories waiting to be told and experiences ready to unfold in each visitor’s imagination, shaped by a contemporary lens.
All works belong to the Pottery Museum’s collection and have been part of previous exhibitions. However, this is the first time they are being presented together—interacting in the same space, offering a new dialogue and a fresh perspective.
