To commemorate International Museum Day, which this year has the theme “Museums uniting a divided world”, the Pottery Museum will, exceptionally, be open during its usual operating hours, inviting the whole community to visit its exhibitions at no charge.
“This theme highlights the fundamental role of museums as bridges across cultural, social and geopolitical divides, promoting dialogue, understanding, inclusion and peace among communities worldwide. As trusted public spaces and places of learning, museums contribute to peaceful coexistence and mutual respect. In a context marked by social fragmentation, polarisation and unequal access to knowledge and culture, museums help to rebuild connections between generations, communities and countries.”
