From the Earth and the Sky - The Biennial in Motion
Ongoing
Every two years, Aveiro hosts the International Biennial of Artistic Ceramics, and as a result of this event, a collection of contemporary ceramics has been compiled, consisting of the awarding of prizes and donations made by artists. The project “A Bienal em Movimento” (The Biennial in Motion) aims to showcase the artworks in the collection by promoting exhibitions, which may be touring exhibitions.
For the Barcelos Pottery Museum, a space of excellence dedicated to the world of pottery making, a selection of pieces was chosen to pay homage to the human nature of ceramics, its origins in the soil, in the sediment itself [Earth], and also its transformation through creativity, narrating, through artwork, our aspirations, deep feelings and emotions [Sky].
The exhibition displays works by the following artists:
Akiko Taniguchi, Alberto Vieira, Ali Esmaeillou, Hsin Yu Tai, Jiho Kim, Maria Geszler, Martim Santa Rita, Memet Gokhan Taskin, Renata Amaral, Shao Lei, Sofia Beça Stela Ivanova, Teresa Aguilar Iglesia, Tifanny Wallace, Verónica Córdoba, and Viviane Diehl.
