Flora and Botany in Barcelos Ceramics, by Lisa Barbosa

Construction of Individual and Collective Pieces
With two sessions, the aim of this workshop is to collectively study the flora represented in the Barcelos ceramics, on display at the Pottery Museum. Handicraft techniques that have been passed down from generation to generation and have made the pieces of our land even richer to the eye, will be presented. With flowers, our emotions become real and more tangible. They are connectors of people, and the act of offering them in good times and in the darkest moments shows the pleasant human need to express oneself, reflecting the intrinsic curiosity in the constant search for and sharing of Beauty - something that people from Barcelos have always created and continue to present in their artistic expressions.
