[:pt]Exposição Geração Ramalho[:en]“Geração Ramalho” and Júlia Ramalho 60/70 Exhibits[:] @ Barcelos | Braga | Portugal

The Pottery Museum presents two exhibits of figurines in clay, with pieces produced by Ramalho family members, one of the most renowned families of pottery in the region of Barcelos.
In the temporary exhibit room (1st floor) you can find the “Geração Ramalho” Exhibit. The exhibit gathers pieces from three generations, presenting some of the most representative works of each protagonist: Rosa Ramalho – the most known and famous craftswoman (1888-1977); Júlia Ramalho, her granddaughter, born in 1946; and Júlia’s siblings, António and Teresa, grandchildren of Rosa.
The Pottery Museum aims, with this exhibit, to emphasize the history of the Ramalho’s family. It’s an exhibit which spans two centuries through the selection of the most representatives and significant pieces of each protagonist, in order to understand the evolution of the Ramalho Figurine Art and its multiple individual interpretations.
The Ramalho family contributed indelibly to create a mark on the local and national pottery. It’s with great pleasure that the Pottery Museum invites you to this challenge and this journey through time.
